Akorbi Achieves ISO 27001 Certification
Plano, TX / September 22, 2022 / The Akorbi Group, a Plano-based global group of companies specializing in language, technology, and workforce solutions, announced it has achieved ISO 27001 certification, recognizing the company’s proven commitment to maintaining the highest level of information security management as an integral part of its business processes.
Any entity that stores or transmits medical, financial, or sensitive information can be a tempting target for data thieves and ransomware. Cyber attacks are a growing threat, with attack vectors changing daily — from external attacks like exploiting vulnerabilities or Denial of Service attacks, to more social engineering attacks like phishing and ransomware.
ISO 27001 certification is the only auditable international standard mandating requirements for the establishment, maintenance, and certification of a comprehensive Information Security Management System (ISMS). It defines how organizations should manage and handle information in the most protective manner, including implementing appropriate security controls, and affirms adherence to the highest possible standards to avoid security threats and data breaches.
To achieve this certification, Akorbi demonstrated a systematic and documented approach to protecting and managing sensitive information, including intellectual property, employee and customer data, and financial information entrusted by third parties.
While securing other forms of accreditation can be a strong first step, these do not necessarily guarantee full and complete compliance with risk management for private data. ISO certifications are a best practice approach, accepted internationally, and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliant.
“It is essential to provide Akorbi’s clients an extra level of defense to protect precious information assets. Enhanced data security confirmed through official ISO 27001 compliance demonstrates you take information security very seriously,” said Jesse Glaesman, Director of Information Security at Akorbi.
Akorbi President and co-founder Azam Mirza added “Building trust with all our stakeholders is critical. Akorbi offers innovative solutions that go beyond simple compliance with regulations and standards. Knowing that a third party with world-class standards has endorsed our security protocol is a huge step in maintaining our clients’ confidence.”
